Quality of Business-Class Decaying
Unfortunately, business class in airlines are becoming what they were ten years ago. Since then, lie-flat seats, gourmet food and wine service, combined with in-flight entertainment options and other amenities have become standard business-class fare. However, the importance of schedule, price and frequent flier status have been diminished by airlines, when they are actually heavily important factors to make the final decision.
Thirty five percent of the revenue created by airlines come from the ten percent of business travelers. That’s why airlines are spending $100s millions to upgrade their business class. For example, American Airlines will soon offer 76-inch-long, steeply reclining seat beds, as well as touch-screen 10.6-inch tilting monitors; in addition to plushly padded Bose noise-canceling headsets. The purpose is to deliver an awing experience when flying transatlantic or transcontinental flights, which can compete with international standards by other airlines.
