Loews Lake Las Vegas “Opens”

loews lake las vegasWhat was once a Hyatt Regency has been purchased by Loews and rebranded as Loews Lake Las Vegas. Part of the larger Lake Las Vegas area, the 21-acre resort overlooks Lake Mead (site of the Hoover Dam) and offers 493 rooms and suites, two championship golf courses, two pools, a salon, fitness center, four restaurants and a full service spa. I rarely report on rebranding announcements because they generally aren’t that exciting. But this one caught my attention. The resort is approximately 20 miles from Las Vegas and offers a prime location for outdoor and lake activities, and, under the new Loews brand, is slated to become a more upscale destination from a comparatively small hotel group that offers stand-out amenities like the Loews Loves Pets program (fancy pet amenities), a Loews kids camp and a trans-fat free food program.

The Henderson, Nevada hotel and casino will reportedly begin renovations and upgrades immediately. Planned upgrades include 42″ flat screen TVs in all rooms and suites, renovated suites and “casbahs,” changes to landscaping and grounds, ballroom renovation and names changes to onsite restaurants. During the transition period, the hotel is offering special opening rates thcoarse April 30, 2007. Nightly rates range from $199 for a resort view room to $299 for an alcove suite.
