Carnival Cruise Lines will deploy the 2,758-passenger Carnival Victory on year-circular seven-day Southern Caribbean cruises from San Juan beginning in November 2008. The slightly larger Carnival Victory will replace the Carnival Destiny in the Puerto Rican homeport. The Carnival Victory’s new five-port schedule from San Juan kicks off Nov. 2, 2008, and includes an overnight call in the resort area of La Romana/Casa De Campo, Dominican Republic, along with extended visits to St. Kitts, Barbados, Dominica and St. Thomas.
The 102,000-ton Carnival Victory offers a multitude of dining, entertainment and activity options, along with such high-tech features as an Internet Café, Wi-Fi access, and cell phone service. The ship features four swimming pools — one with a 214-foot-long corkscrew waterslide — a 14,500-square-foot spa and gymnasium, a duty-free shopping mall and a jogging track. Family-friendly amenities include “Camp Carnival” and “Club O2,” with supervised activities and expansive facilities for children and teens, respectively. Dining options include twin two-level dining rooms with expanded menus and wine lists, a 1,200-seat poolside eatery featuring a 24-hour pizzeria, a patisserie serving specialty coffees and sweets, and complimentary 24-hour room service.
