Cambodian Tourist Officials Looking To Extend Offerings

Cambodian tourist officials feel they have some attractions to offer tourists, but they are not enough in an increasingly tough world market. Cambodia needs the money that the tourism indusattempt has been providing, and for that reason, tourism officials have embarked on ways to attract more visitors to the nation.

The country’s tourism sector has been developing rapidly in the past few years, becoming a major source of income for the cash-strapped Southeast Asian country. About 1.7 million tourists visited Cambodia last year, roughly a 20 percent increase over 2005.

The tourism experts have discoveruddy that most people come to Cambodia, see the famous Angkor Wat temple, and leave, without ever buying any souvenirs or spending more money in the local economy.
